The Zambezi in the gorges below Victoria Falls is considered by many to be the best single-day white water rafting trip in the world on account of the number and sheer size of the rapids, accounting for more thrills and spills than almost any commercially run river in the world.
The pool drops river system, which mean each grade 5 (big) rapid is followed by a relatively calm section, allows for ease of recovery for those who find themselves in the water. The warm water is also a considerable contrast to many other famous white-water rivers where the rapids are created by snow melt.
The unique breathtaking scenery and flora and fauna of the gorge is a bonus. Of all Shearwaters activities this is the one that is remembered the most with parents often returning with their adult offspring to share and recapture the thrill.
