The canopy tour in Victoria Falls is an exciting high‑wire adventure that lets you explore the Batoka Gorge rainforest from above in a way that’s both thrilling and scenic. Participants are fitted with safety gear and given a full briefing before moving through a network of zip lines, suspension bridges, slides and walkways suspended in the treetops and over the gorge, offering panoramic views of the Zambezi River, gorge cliffs and surrounding forest. The experience typically runs for about 2 to 2½ hours and includes around nine different zip line sections of varying lengths and rope‑bridge crossings that give you a mix of gentle gliding and light adrenaline fun. Guided by trained staff, the canopy tour is designed to be family‑friendly and suitable for most ages and fitness levels, making it a great way to combine nature viewing with a sense of aerial adventure while learning about the local ecology and birdlife as you go.

Boma Dinner and Transfer 

I had a wonderful stay at The Shrub Lodge in Victoria Falls. The rooms were incredibly comfortable, with big, spacious beds that made it easy to relax after a long day of exploring . One of my favorite features was the large bathtub, it was  perfect for unwinding in the evening.

The food was also excellent, with a great variety of tasty dishes. I especially enjoyed the refreshing mocktails, which were well prepared and a nice treat to have with dinner.

What truly made the stay special was the staff. Everyone was very friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help with a smile. Their hospitality made the experience even more enjoyable.

Overall, The Shrub Lodge offers comfort, great food and drinks, and warm service. I would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Victoria Falls.

Accommodation

Prina georganiseerde gidstour, en dat was vooral prettig in verband met de grensprocedures. 
De prive begeleiding langs de watervallen had echter weinig toegevoegde waarde, dat hadden we prima ook zelf kunnen doen. De (warme) lunch was op een mooie locatie, maar was erg massaal en hectisch.
Achteraf vonden we deze trip te duur, omdat we het ook prima zelf hadden kunnen doen als we alleen het vervoer zouden hebben ingehuurd.

A great little hotel, very clean and well run.  The staff were wonderful and I would have no hesitation in using it again.  

Accommodation, transfers and activities

We loved the shrub lodge. An intimate setting with all that we needed . Staff were brilliant rooms were spacious and clean and the food was magnificent ! 

Having stayed in other lodges /hotels in Victoria Falls, we’re very disappointed with the Shrub Lodge. Whilst the facilities were clean and staff friendly and helpful, it seemed there were things that were not communicated well. Eg. If intending to eat in the restaurant  menu selection needed to be made in advance! Informed of this at checkout!  Similarly the wine list stated in the menu was fictional, only two wines available, red or white, neither label listed in the menu!

Room was comfortable and clean. 

Our one evening dinner was a very disappointing event. The menus handed to my wife and I didn't match. Many items offered on the menu were not available, (only one item on the Traditional menu was available). Mysteriously none of the $10 wines were available, just the $20 bottles. We decided to just have a glass each, which turned out to be awful, (and we're not fussy wine drinkers). My wife was told her chicken choice would take 45 minutes. We were the only people in the restaurant. Did we really want football on the big screen at dinner? No! (The same match was still on at breakfast the following day). Both our different chicken choices were poor quality and bony.

The breakfasts were fine but we did not return for an evening meal.

All the staff throughout our stay were pleasant, polite and helpful.

We had a wonderful time.   Accommodation was as shown in photos,  was very comfortable.   Was nice to be in a smaller complex as you got to know the awesome staff,  very friendly and the service was amazing.  Special mention to Faith who arranged all our activities and Courage who did most of our transfers and getting us to places.   Pool was great to lounge by reading a book.

Activities 

Excellent boutique hotel in Victoria Falls.
The rooms are beautiful as are the bathrooms with shower and tub. Tea/Coffee making facilities in the room and water provided.
Nice swiming pool. Excellent breakfast and options for lunch/dinner.
But more than all this, that's the staff that makes this hotel unique. All are very friendly and make their most to have your stay unforgetable.

Airport pick up

Great stay, love their pool and hamburgers. They are also very helpful when it comes to book tours around Vic Falls. 

The place is great, clean, and quiet. Everything was as advertised, and the staff were unbelievably professional and nice to work with. I would recommend this place to anyone, and they handled our airport transfers and which was great as well. Nice job, Shrub Lodge, keep up the great work!

The guide was a nice person, but we could not understand his english - He tried several times to tell stories about the falls or Mr Levingston but it was too hard to understand

Guided Tour Of Victoria Falls

Great choice for a solo traveler. Friendly, helpful and professional staff. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. 

Boma dinner was an excellent experience. People were nice, the food was plentiful and the music and dancing were very fun. The most nice part was the drum playing. We had a great time. 

Solo trip. Airport transfers were seamless. 5 stars 🤩

We stay at Kamtengo lodge. Bad location. Very expensive for the product and service offer. During our stay we had problem with electricity and wi-fi. For the breakfast you will have to take at another location. 

The Shrub lodge - AFMRM 2025

For a small hotel it was v’ clean and efficient.  The pool was by far the cleanest in the whole of our 12 day holiday.

WE HAD ENJOYED OUR STAY.THE TEAM WAS ALWAYS AVAILABLE WHEN WE NEED SOME ASSISTANCE. DEFINITELY I WILL  BOOK AGAIN AND AGAIN

Activities and Transfers

My recent stay at the Shrublodge was a genuinely pleasant experience, and I was especially impressed by the professionalism and attentive customer service provided by the staff. Their communication was outstanding, even exceeding that of some well-regarded hotels in the vicinity, including The Victoria Falls Hotel, The Rainbow Hotel, and Cresta  Sprayview View Hotel, among others I have considered. The staff members were friendly, helpful, and attentive. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the location was convenient, the food and amenities were delightful, and the overall value was excellent. I would only suggest that they might consider offering complimentary airport transfers, similar to what some other establishments in the area provide. For that reason alone, I have given this place a 4 and half stars otherwise, it would have been a 5stars.

Ps My grandson enjoyed, the pool, we will definitely be back.

Accommodation payment

The shuttle service to and from the airport was excellent. In addition we used the shuttle service to and from the hotel during our stay thus ensuring we were able to get around the area easily and safely. It was excellent value for money and the drivers we prompt and courteous. Highly recommend.


Airport Pick up 

We spent two weeks at The Shrub - and enjoyed it immensely. The room was spacious, well-equipped and kept immaculately clean - as was the swimming pool and grounds.

The restaurant had an excellent breakfast offer, and a reasonable, and reasonably priced, menu for lunch and dinner.

The staff were lovely - friendly and always trying their best.

It is a 5-10 mins taxi ride into town, there's another decent restaurant, spa facilities etc within walking distance if preferred - and you are not bothered by the almost-incessant noise from helicopter tours over the falls, bridge etc.

We found it a perfect base for touring and chilling - and strongly recommend The Shrub.

Return Airport Transfer

Lovely small hotel, in a quiet location.  Friendly staff.

Friendly staff. We stayed in a triple room. It was a bit too close to the kitchen so it was a bit noisy in the evening. Beds and pillows were comfortable. Very clean. Water from the shower was leaking out which was a slip hazard in the bathroom.  Otherwise it was a comfortable stay.

My stay was adequate. There seemed to be misunderstandings along the way.
 I understood if I booked from the available activities I would get a complimentary transfer to the airport. I therefore went ahead and booked a morning safari which I could have booked independently. However, when it came to the transfer, The Shrub interpreted it to mean I had to book more than one. This was badly represented as the wording had a double meaning, and it was never made clear that it meant more than one. 
Every time I tried to arrange this transfer, the price changed, as did a separate taxi fare I enquired about. 
The food was good - unfortunately there was a fish bone I swallowed - I do know this was unintentional and things like this can happen - the chef felt so bad. Nevertheless it was a mixed reaction from various staff - some of it good and some of it not so good.
There was constant audible music over the speakers in the public areas including the pool area. This meant it could be clearly heard everywhere including the rooms and it did not feel a peaceful environment. 
It may not have been their intention, but I never felt at ease with my interactions with the staff and feel it is essential for customer service to feel genuine. 


We had a wonderful time. Wonderful and helpful staff. Comfortable accommodation.

However there was not enough hot water to take a shower and the weather was cold. Cleanliness needs attention. 

Very smooth transfers and well worth doing. We were a party of 5, and everyone enjoyed it, especially the river game viewing. Our guide was very knowledgeable. 

Chobe day trip

We have loved stay in the Shrub Lodge.
The place is calm, friendly and welcoming. The food was very good and staff extremely helpful. We recommend for a stay at Victoria Falls.

Standard Sunset Cruise

Overall, the service was okay, but there were a few areas that could use improvement.

Upon my arrival, there was some miscommunication regarding room assignments. I expected to have my own room, but I was instead placed in a shared room with my colleague, despite having submitted our rooming preferences indicating that we both needed single rooms. This was a bit disappointing.

Additionally, there was no mention of being assigned a family room when we booked. The room at the end, close to the gate from the back, had an interleading door, which meant I could hear the people in the adjacent room talking, showering, etc. It would have been preferable not to be placed in a family room if we were not a family, as it compromised our privacy. Moreover, I could hear the staff in the kitchen talking and making noise, which was quite distracting when I wanted to rest one afternoon. 

Our group did manage to enjoy breakfast during our stay, which was quite nice and offered a good variety. However, we found the girls at the reception to be a bit slow and often confused about our booking details. A friendlier demeanor from the reception staff would also enhance the overall experience.

On a positive note, the chef and waiter were very warm and accommodating, which made for a pleasant dining experience. We also appreciated the help with getting paramedics for two of our guests, which was crucial support during our stay.

One suggestion I have is to consider hiring a concierge for larger groups to assist with carrying bags to rooms. Alternatively, hiring additional staff specifically for that purpose could greatly improve the check-in process.

Overall, while our stay had its challenges, there were some positive aspects that we appreciated. With a few adjustments, The Shrub could provide an even better experience for its guests.

Chobe safari and river cruise was amazing.  Make sure you book te river portion as this was our very favorite.
We also enjoyed the sunset Lux river cruise-beautiful sunsets but did not see many animals.
I think we could have skipped the Walking with the Elephant tour expensive for a 1 hour trip,  Really more about them taking photos of you with the elephants.
